It is this "real world" element that differentiates AR from virtual reality (VR). The technical means it uses include Multimedia, 3D-Modelling, Real-time Tracking and Registration, Intelligent Interaction, Sensing and more. Augmented reality applications have spanned commercial industries such as education, communications, medicine, and entertainment.
AR increases engagement and interaction and provides a richer user experience. Research has shown that AR increases the perceived value of products and brands. Well-implemented AR activity conveys innovation and responsiveness from forward-thinking brands.
AR vision is impersonated in films like “ready player one”.

Who hasn’t used Snapchat, and Instagram filters? Snapchat filters use AR to overlay a filter or mask over the user's Snap or picture. Pokémon Go is a popular mobile AR game that uses the player's GPS to detect where Pokémon creatures appear in the user's surrounding environment for them to catch. The U.S. Army uses AR in an eyepiece called Tactical Augmented Reality (TAR). TAR mounts onto the soldier's helmet and aids in locating another soldier's position.
AR has the potential to connect people around the globe in an instant and change the way we interact with both the virtual world and the real one. The only place to go from here is up, and it appears the sky’s the limit. Are you an AR user too??
